The Wire Stripper

Every week on my TV show I would demonstrate a simple but useful tool, this time a very inexpensive but essential tool for all household electrical work. When you have what we call Lomax wire, that is regular household wire with the plastic sleeve, it is always a problem to strip off the plastic sleeve for a few inches to expose the wires inside. This little bent piece of metal, with a well placed tooth on the inside, simply slips over the wire, you squeeze it shut so that the tooth bits into the plastic sheathing, and then pull it off. You will discover that the sheathing has been slip open but the wires inside have not been bothered at all. I don't know what it's real name is, but I call it a Lomax Stripper or in the States a Romax stripper.
