Purchase a "speedway wrench? -- they don't cost much and make working under sinks much less of a headache. These are special long right angle wrenches that get to that collar nut way up under the faucets.
You can now purchase copper pipe connectors with compression joints, avoiding the need for propane and solder.
Wrap the pipes in toilet paper before turning on the water so that any small leaks show up quickly ? while you are still in plumbing mode.
