If you have ever tried to set up re-bar for concrete columns, you know it is not that easy, especially if you are working from the top of a hole in the ground. It is even more difficult if you want the rebar to properly spread out at the bottom.
So some guys in Lennoxville, Quebec invented a better way they call Tuk Struk, and made it not very expensive. They bend the re-bar for the base, then weld two little hinge mechanisms onto the re-bar, to create an unfolding system that is quick and easy to drop into plastic footing molds like the Tube Base system from Williston, Vermont. When unfolded they even have centering springs that distance the three or four re-bars equal distance from the edge of the concrete tube.
