Easy-Find reflective tape on flashlight

You have all seen stickers that absorb light and then glow in the dark. But have you seen any that store enough light to glow brightly for 8 hours? Well a young man from British Columbia invented just such a material. He started with little rings of the stuff to put around the lock on your car door. When you are in a dark place, or out in the country, you don't have to search for the keyhole -- in fact you can spot your car by the glowing keyhole.

Then he started making all kinds of shapes out of his reflective material, from light switch outlines to solid patches. One interesting use for the patch is to attach it to a ski tag hanging on the zipper of your camping tent. You don't even need a flashlight to find the zipper, or to identify which tent is yours.

Then one of our staff members had the brilliant thought: what is the one thing you can never find when the lights go out -- the flashlight. So she wrapped one of these self-adhesive reflective patches around the flashlight handle. Now, cameras don't see low light nearly as well as human eyes, but even in the studio, when we turned out the lights, you could easily spot the flashlight high up on the shelf. So rather than keeping your flashlight in a drawer -- put one of these Easy-Find reflectors on it and keep it where it will collect light all day. It will give it back all night, every night -- something that few other reflectors can do so brilliantly.
